About Plug
Plug is an online marketplace where consumers, dealers, and commercial partners can trade in, sell, and auction used electric vehicles. By focusing exclusively on EVs, Plug can evaluate more accurately, transact faster, and deliver stronger financial outcomes than any gas-native platform. Founded in 2023 and led by former Tesla executives, Plug has facilitated $100M in sales since launch, is backed by a $20M Series A from Lightspeed Venture Partners, and is building the AI-native transaction rails behind the used EV market's exponential growth. The Opportunity
You will build the operational infrastructure that allows Plug’s marketplace to scale. That means designing processes, configuring systems, automating workflows, and creating the reporting foundation the team relies on to make decisions.
You’ll be hands-on with day-to-day operations while also bringing the technical depth to make those operations faster, more reliable, and less manual. You’ll manage and develop a team of coordinators while working across the full vehicle lifecycle, from onboarding through post-sale, identifying where things break, where time is wasted, and where better tooling or process design can unlock capacity. This role requires someone who can operate in the details today while building the systems and playbooks that allow the team to scale tomorrow.
What You’ll Do…
Team & People Management
Manage, coach, and develop a team of operations coordinators focused on process execution, data quality, and systems support.
Set clear goals and expectations, provide regular feedback, and create development paths for team members.
Allocate workload across the team to balance project-based initiatives with ongoing operational support.
Identify when and where to expand the team as the complexity of Plug’s systems and processes grows.
Process Design & Optimization
Map, document, and continuously improve SOPs across the vehicle lifecycle including onboarding, listing, auction, invoicing, title, transportation, and arbitrations.
Identify operational bottlenecks and design systemic fixes, not just one-off patches.
Build scalable playbooks that reduce reliance on institutional knowledge and enable the team to grow.
Own change management when new processes are rolled out, including training, documentation, and adoption tracking.
Systems & Tooling
Evaluate, configure, and optimize the tools the operations team uses daily, including CRM, internal platforms, and third-party systems.
Partner with Product and Engineering to translate operational pain points into platform improvements and feature requests.
Identify opportunities for automation across the vehicle lifecycle, such as workflow triggers, integrations, and task routing.
Own the operations team’s tooling roadmap and ensure systems evolve alongside the business.
Data, Reporting & Insights
Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to track operational KPIs including listing speed, data accuracy, partner SLAs, and throughput.
Use data to surface trends, flag risks, and prioritize where the team should focus improvement efforts.
Create regular operational reviews that give leadership clear visibility into team performance and pipeline health.
Define and standardize how the operations team measures success.
Cross-Functional Enablement
Work closely with Partner Operations to understand where their biggest friction points are and build solutions.
Collaborate with Engineering on system integrations, data flows, and platform reliability.
Support new partner and product launches by ensuring operational workflows and tooling are ready before go-live.
Serve as the operations team’s voice in product and technical planning discussions.
What You’ll Bring…
6+ years in Operations, RevOps, BizOps, or Operations Enablement roles (marketplaces, automotive, fintech, or platforms a plus).
2+ years of direct people management experience, ideally leading coordinators or associate-level team members.
Strong systems thinker. You see how tools, data, and processes connect and where they break.
Hands-on experience configuring CRMs, building dashboards, writing SQL, or working with automation tools such as Zapier, Retool, or similar.
Proven track record of designing processes that actually get adopted, not just documented.
Analytically rigorous. You use data to prioritize, not just to report.
Clear communicator who can translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where little exists.
You move fast, think in systems, and hold yourself to a high standard of output.
Why Plug?
You'll own a piece of the biggest infrastructure opportunity in automotive.
You'll work on a platform built exclusively for EVs, with nothing adapted from legacy automotive.
You'll be part of an AI-native company. We're rethinking how work gets done at a fundamental level.
You'll work directly with operators who have scaled multi-billion dollar businesses in automotive, EV, and marketplaces.
You'll have real ownership, high autonomy, and a direct line to company outcomes.
