Job Description

Full Stack Engineering JD

Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Payments

Remote · US + LATAM · Engineering

Build the rails that move money home.

Every year, more than half a trillion dollars crosses borders between people. Most of it is slow, expensive, and stuck in infrastructure built for a different era. We're rebuilding the rails. Palla powers instant cross-border P2P payments through APIs and white-label apps that financial institutions and fintechs embed into their own products, moving money in seconds across 180+ countries.

We're backed by Revolution Ventures, Y Combinator, and Cowboy Ventures, and live with partners reaching 150M+ end customers across LATAM and the Caribbean.

If you want to ship code that moves real money for real families, keep reading.

About the role

You'll join a world-class, AI-native engineering team operating with a level of leverage and speed that traditional orgs can't match. We ship weekly, not quarterly. Engineers talk directly to customers. Generalists own vertical slices end-to-end. Agents handle the toil; humans handle the judgment.

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you'll own meaningful parts of the Palla platform end-to-end, including API design, backend services, partner integrations, white-label clients, and the infrastructure underneath. You'll ship to production weekly, on real payment rails, with all the rigor that demands.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and ship full-stack features across the Palla platform spanning APIs, services, clients, and infra
  • Own production systems end-to-end, including on-call for what you build
  • Integrate with partner APIs (banks, card networks, payout rails, KYC providers) and turn weeks of integration work into days
  • Work directly with partners and our product team to translate real customer needs into shipped code
  • Build with AI agents as teammates. Claude Code, Cursor, and the agent stack across our SDLC are core to how we work
  • Help shape the engineering bar, hiring loop, and culture of an early team

What you bring

  • 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience shipping production systems at meaningful scale
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Fintech or payments background. You've shipped code that moved money, handled PII, or interacted with regulated infrastructure (banks, card networks, KYC/AML, ledgers, settlement)
  • True full-stack range across frontend, backend, and infra. No handoffs
  • Owner mindset. You measure yourself in shipped outcomes, not tickets closed
  • Product instinct. You'd rather talk to a customer than read a PRD about one
  • AI fluency. You already build with agents and have opinions on where they're strong and where they break
  • Scrappy and fast. You'd rather ship a working v1 on Friday than a perfect v2 next quarter

Bonus points

  • Experience with cross-border payments, remittances, or FX
  • LATAM market experience or Spanish fluency
  • You've operated a real agentic system in production, not a demo
  • Early engineer experience at a Seed or Series A startup

About Palla

Palla enables instant P2P payments from the US to other countries, a $65BN a year market. Sending and receiving remittances today is slow, time consuming and inconvenient for all parties, as it's a mostly cash based process. With Palla, senders in the US can do it in a few taps of their phone and receivers get their money in seconds.
