## Job description

Fort is building a screenless wearable and companion app designed for strength training, helping people understand their training, movement, and health over time.

We’re looking for a founding software engineer to own development across our stack, with a strong backend focus. Your first priorities will be making data move reliably and quickly between wearable, phone, and server, and making the product feel responsive in everyday use.

You’ll build APIs, improve synchronization and data infrastructure, debug performance across system boundaries, and ship mobile features. You’ll also support data analysis and the infrastructure behind our machine learning work.

You should have experience shipping and operating software at a startup, strong backend fundamentals, and the ability to follow a problem wherever it leads. You’re comfortable turning an ambiguous problem into a working solution, making practical tradeoffs, and working hard to see it through. As an early engineer, you’ll work directly with the founders and have substantial ownership of what we build and how it works.Fort is building a screenless wearable and companion app designed for strength training, helping people understand their training, movement, and health over time.
