Our platform supports 24 operations in 23 countries, processing millions of transactions daily across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. As we continue to evolve, we are focused on leveraging our massive data processing capabilities—handling over 1.4 TB of data daily—to drive innovation in cross-border payments, credit scoring, and embedded finance. Our business is entirely technology-driven, from eligibility modelling and risk management to automated recovery and reconciliation. We are looking for leaders who can help us scale these solutions and unlock new revenue streams in the APAC market.
Ezra provides B2B digital lending solutions for emerging markets in partnership with mobile and digital wallet operators and financial service providers. Ezra supports 24 operations in 23 countries, across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Our key office locations are in Nairobi, Kenya and Dubai, UAE.
Our flagship products are Airtime Credit Services (ACS), Nano and BNPL.
- ACS is an airtime or data advance offered to prepaid mobile subscribers at the point of low credit.
- Nano is a micro cash advance offered to mobile wallet users on demand.
- BNPL facilitates payment instalments for products and services.
As a FinTech company, our business is entirely technology and data driven, from determining subscriber eligibility, generating relevant offers, managing risk, loan issuance, recovery, optimising performance and reporting, reconciliation and billing.
Each day we process approximately 21M loan requests and 1.4 TB of data across our markets. This process needs to be robust, reliable and secure.
But it doesn’t end there. We’re exploring new ways of using our platform and transactional data to improve our products and develop new product opportunities.
Context of the role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Director (Head of APAC) to lead all sales and growth activities across the Asia-Pacific region. This role is critical in driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and overseeing the development and execution of regional sales strategies. The successful candidate will leverage a diverse ecosystem of digital value services, including micropayments, airtime credit, and lending solutions, to deliver commercial success in a fast-paced, competitive, and multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute the APAC sales strategy in alignment with global objectives to achieve revenue and market share targets. Define go-to-market plans, including market segmentation, pricing models, and sales channel optimisation.
- Business Development: Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, trends, and customer needs. Lead the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing, for enterprise-level deals.
- Team Leadership: Build, manage, and motivate a high-performing, diverse sales team across the APAC region. Set clear KPIs, monitor performance, and foster a culture of accountability and innovation.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong executive-level relationships with mobile network operators (MNOs), financial institutions, digital wallet providers, and fintech partners. Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with marketing, product, and operations teams to align regional sales efforts with global organizational goals. Provide market insights to inform product development and strategy.
- Operational Excellence: Track and analyse sales metrics, manage pipelines, and ensure rigorous adherence to company standards in proposal development and CRM management.
Professional Qualifications and Experience
- 10 years in senior sales or business development roles, with at least 5 years managing high-performing teams across APAC.
- Deep expertise in the fintech or telecommunications sectors, with specific experience in digital payments, lending, or mobile-first value-added services.
- Demonstrable knowledge of business cultures and customer behaviours across the APAC region.
- Proven ability to engage and negotiate with C-level executives to navigate complex deals and facilitate strategic partnerships.
- Strong balance of strategic planning and an active, hands-on approach to sales execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), Excel, and PowerPoint. Data analysis experience (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Thrives under pressure, prioritising effectively to deliver results in changing environments.
- Comfortably operates in ambiguous settings, breaking down complex regulatory and market requirements into clear, actionable commercial strategies.
- Possesses high integrity and the commercial acumen to align technical capabilities with customer needs to create mutual value.
- Is able and willing to travel frequently within the region.
- Retains a “can-do” attitude, entrepreneurial drive, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global, and geographically diverse company.
