Job purpose - major duties and responsibilities of the job
The CLS Architecture practice establishes and maintains the architectural framework to support the technology strategy within which secure IT solutions can be delivered. It is responsible for ensuring CLS continues to deliver, secure, reliable, resilient, cost-beneficial business service solutions (current, planned and speculated) through the formulation of the enterprise strategy and architecture framework for the CLS IT Systems, underpinned by the technical governance and compliance of IT Systems designs.
To function as a Security Solutions Architect on a variety of internal and external IT delivery projects, key responsibilities include:
- Produce high-quality High Level Design documentation describing technical systems solutions, providing overall design direction and recommendations for resolution of complex technical issues.
- Analyse existing Design documents, find recommended options in the market, produce presentations to the Design Authority team with options and rationale and subsequently proceed with authoring High Level Design documents.
- Focus on Security Tooling High Level Designs, and products management, assessing product development and enhancements fit for the organisation within this domain.
- Map Network and data flows, for internal and external integrations along with the associated security controls.
- Conduct comprehensive Threat Modelling, risk assessments and secure by design architecture practices.
- Provide design based technical direction to the IT security engineering, delivery, and test teams throughout implementation phases.
- Support the Security Enterprise Architects in the development of security capability road maps to enable the evolution of the security portfolios from current to future state.
- Function as a liaison between Architecture and Security Engineering and contribute to the development of technical standards and security policies, architecture design quality, and architecture best practices.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities - competencies required for successful job performance.
- Experience and understanding of security and automation tooling high level design, where security tooling supports the capabilities of, Cryptography, Malware, Cyber Threat Intelligence, SIEM, Privilege & Identity Access Management, User Behaviour & Insider Threat Analysis, Data Security, Application Security and Network Security.
- Solid understanding and design capability across multiple security and infrastructure domains such as networks, firewalls, secure data and file transfer, remote access solutions, cloud security, containerisation, automation, cloud, data center, collaboration, and end user/digital workplace services.
- Technologies, LAN/WAN/MAN, Routing, Firewall, Firewall rule management, Wireless, IDS/IPS, WAN optimization, Proxy, VPN services, HSMs.
- Experience designing, documenting, complex solutions and their integrations.
- Ability to apply secure by design and resiliency by design concepts to the high-level security design process.

Qualifications / certifications:
- Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant IT Security Architecture certifications are beneficial: CISSP, or Cloud security, AI security, and networking accreditations. (e.g. AWS Certified Security Speciality, AWS Solution Architect), AAISM (Advanced AI Security Management), Microsoft Certified Cyber Security Architect.
