POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Software Program Integration Lead. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, program management, systems integration, and stakeholder coordination for a software development program, and will be the respective program's point of contact for the coordination all software related to the Space Suit program at Axiom Space.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define integration strategies and schedules in alignment with program needs.

  • Plan how the software delivery from the various software teams will work together to meet program objectives.

  • Identify program software risk early and elevate that to the program and functional leaders for awareness, impact assessment, and mitigation strategies

  • Oversee software builds and integration environments specific to the program, but in alignment with Axiom's goal to have a streamlined software product delivery with reuse/reuse with adjustments where possible.

  • Support system-level testing and validation.

  • Develop and maintain integration plans and resolve compatibility issues between systems. Coordinate contingency plans when integration problems arise.

  • Track milestones, risks, and dependencies.

  • Coordinate cross-functional schedules and escalate issues that could delay delivery.

  • Report software development/delivery status to program leadership.

  • Ensure integration activities stay on schedule.

  • Act as the primary point of contact between software engineering, systems engineering, hardware teams, QA/testing, DevSecOps, etc. for this program.

  • Drive issue resolution across organizations and facilitate intentional technical meetings.

  • Coordinate various testing and V&V efforts for all program specific software in alignment with the Axiom Software Engineering V&V plan.

  • Collaborate with the Software Release Manager to coordinate software releases, ensuring all components are compatible prior to deployment, and review release readiness criteria.

  • Collaborate with the respective stakeholders to deliver program specific integration plans, Interface control documents (ICDs), architecture diagrams, release documentation, risk registers, and status reports.

  • This role does not directly manage people but orchestrates the overall software delivery for the respective program.

  • Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Perform additional job duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems, and 10 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Experience with systems integration

  • Familiarity with agile methodology and the scrum framework

  • Proven leadership experience including project management, stakeholder communication, conflict resolution, technical decision-making, risk management, and prioritization.

  • Good communication skills are a must

  • Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

  • Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges.

  • Demonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high quality results.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.


Requirements

  • This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. export control laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment.

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.


Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
