
Industrial Engineering | Business Analytics internship: KPI framework design
Job Description
Introduction
The Quality Engineering & Excellence team in the Reuse & Repair sector supports a large engineering organization in Veldhoven. The team enables consistent quality, performance, and continuous improvement across reuse and repair activities. In this internship, you will help design and implement a structured KPI framework for a department of about 100 people. Your work connects strategic goals to measurable outcomes and improves data-driven decision-making. You will collaborate closely with engineering leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
Your assignment
You will design and implement a clear KPI framework that supports performance management and improvement cycles. You will work with group leads, department leads, and engineers to translate objectives into measurable indicators and insights. You will also support reporting concepts and help embed KPIs into daily operations. Your main responsibilities will be:
Design and refine a KPI framework for quality and reuse or repair activities
Translate objectives into clear, measurable KPIs with definitions and targets
Structure KPIs across department, team, and process levels
Assess data sources and validate data quality, availability, and consistency
Analyze baseline performance and trends to support target setting
Define KPI calculation logic and reporting cadence
Facilitate stakeholder alignment and document KPI governance
This is a master’s internship (non-thesis) for a minimum of 5 months, a minimum of 3 days per week (2-3 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as of August/September 2026.
Your profile
To be suitable for the internship, you:
Are enrolled in a master’s degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, business engineering, business analytics, or a related field
Have relevant experience from internships or previous jobs, preferably in process improvement or performance management
Have strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
Have experience working with data using Excel, Power BI or similar tools; experience with visualization tools is a plus
Communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and take initiative in a structured way
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
