
Electrical Engineering | Mechanical Engineering internship: product marking evaluation
Job Description
Introduction
Within ASML’s Electronics Development cluster in Veldhoven, you will work on product traceability for advanced electronics systems. This internship helps improve how components are identified across their lifecycle. You will investigate marking techniques used in high-tech manufacturing environments such as cleanrooms and vacuum systems. Your work will support consistent design decisions and supplier collaboration. As a result, this internship contributes directly to product reliability and compliance.
Your assignment
In this internship you will explore and compare industrial marking methods for electronic and electro-mechanical products. You will assess their suitability in demanding environments and translate findings into clear recommendations. The goal is to build a structured overview that supports engineering teams and suppliers. Your main responsibilities will be:
Investigate existing and alternative product marking techniques across industry
Analyze differences, benefits, and limitations of each marking method
Evaluate suitability for defined product grades and technical requirements
Assess compatibility with cleanroom and vacuum environments
Compare techniques based on cost drivers, scalability, and process complexity
Review feasibility within supplier capabilities and manufacturing processes
Document results and present clear, practical recommendations
This is a bachelor non-thesis internship for 3-6 months, minimum 3 days per week (1 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as of September 2026.
Your profile
To be suitable for the internship, you:
Are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, or industrial engineering
Have strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Show interest in manufacturing technologies, materials, or industrial processes
Communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal
Work proactively and independently while staying collaborative
Bring knowledge in the graphic industry
Other requirements you need to meet:
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter needs to include the willingness to relocate.
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
