The Supplier Operations department’s mission is to secure material availability at the right cost, right quality and right time for our customers. To realize this mission, we need to set ourselves up for success to navigate the volume ramp, while managing the growing installed base & supply chain complexity in a smarter way. This means that we need to drive both structural step changes and continuous improvements in our core processes at the same time. Your role as Buyer/Planner is to ensure effective and efficient execution of the (operational) procurement activities by for example arranging adequate material supply, resolving operational procurement issues, and ensuring master data control.
Ensures timely and effective purchasing and planning, to meet customer delivery dates, service requirements and inventory goals. Responsible for executing to a MRP plan, analyzing requirements, and mitigating material shortage impacts. Drives daily production efficiencies by releasing purchase orders based on MRP requirements. Assists with expediting material needed to support operations. Coordinates and/or monitors the receipt of materials. Issues purchase orders for material and/or services and ensures on time delivery from suppliers with acceptable quality. Analyzes and executes MRP planned supply messages to maximize the use of reclaimed material supply while minimizing new material expenditures for these components. Aligns with AP to resolve supplier invoice and payment issues. Coordinates with warehouse personnel to correct receiving discrepancies.
This position is based in Pyeongtaek and Hwaseong both sites. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation. A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work.
Role and responsibilities
As an Operational Buyer/Planner, your main focus is to secure and assure material availability to the factories and the field and resolve shortages. You are the first point of contact for Inbound Supply Chain Management towards our suppliers and internal customers. Besides, you manage the short term Materials Availability Performance of your suppliers and make sure that your suppliers deliver and execute according to existing agreements.
- Plans, issues and controls purchase orders and coordinates material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
- Communicates and/or assists in negotiating with suppliers regarding forecasts, schedule changes, discrepant material issues, and delivery schedules.
- Monitors material inventory for financial tracking purposes and in support of company goals.
- Resolves a range of issues in practical ways and assists in making recommendations for policy/process action in order to monitor and expedite open orders, report on supply base performance, react to change orders, and plan and review the impact to the material availability.
- Reviews MRP planned requirements and implements supply plan for all material components.
- Maintains Oracle ASL and Sourcing Rules as it relates to material supply requirements.
- Assists in recommending forecast adjustments based on actual performance.
- Assists with cycle count reconciliation.
- Coaching and training of suppliers to increase the maturity level and correct use of Cymer designed systems, processes, procedures, tools and techniques.
- Process improvements by applying LEAN methodologies like 4C/A3 problem solving techniques and participation in (complex) projects on department level.
- Analysis and reporting on Materials Availability, while understanding the Materials Requirements Planning logic and dependencies with other processes and departments in the supply chain. Regularly updating key interfaces on status, progress, impact and performance.
Education and experience
Education:
- Education and qualifications Bachelor or Master degree preferably in Logistics or Supply Chain Management Furthermore has good knowledge of and/or experience with Logistics processes,
- Supply Chain and flows within scope of department, Planning systems (e.g. MRP).
Experience:
- 2-5 years relevant and proven experience in logistics / supply chain management
- Experience in planning, Inbound Supply Chain Management processes in a high-tech, low-volume environment
- Experience in driving material planning - Experience with planning (ERP) systems, preferably Oracle
- Experience in complex work environment with multiple stakeholders
- Experience with supply chain processes in production environment
