Lead, Creative Operations

Amca
El Segundo, CA
Full Time
Compensation
$115,000–$155,000/year

Job Description

Amca is building America’s new industrial base. Since the 1990s, our ability to build new aviation and military systems and maintain the ones we already have has eroded. Today, the gap between what the nation needs to produce and what it is capable of producing is the largest it has been in generations.

To help close that gap, Amca rapidly develops and manufactures new critical components and subsystems required to build and sustain the planes, military vehicles, and core infrastructure America needs. Today, we operate seven factories nationwide, including our advanced prototyping and testing headquarters in El Segundo, and deliver avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for platforms such as the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, A321, Mk-48, and M1 Abrams.

Overview

Amca’s Lead for Creative Operations will be responsible for managing and implementing our brand vision and marketing goals across all mediums, especially those that are operationally intensive (film/media production, events, factory renovations). This person will sit on the Growth team, work closely with the company’s Senior Manager of Creative and Marketing, and report to the VP of Growth.

The right candidate is excellent at project management, isn’t afraid to be aggressive with slow vendors, and also has uncompromising taste which will be used to make the dozens of small creative decisions required during execution to realize a broader vision. They probably have between 2-5 years of experience working in real estate development, film production, or complex startup project management.

Responsibilities

While the set of projects that falls under Creative Operations is ever-changing, below are examples of the kinds of work this person will own across both project management and creative production:

  1. Renovate each of our factories as rapidly as possible.
    1. Work with the right set of architects and general contractors across the country to bring our aesthetic vision for physical space (pioneered in our office, as featured in Dezeen) to life across all of our facilities around the country.
    2. Be the primary point person for the architect, GC, and factory general manager for each renovation.
    3. Balance speed/economy and aesthetic vision, making decisions with the architect and GC that allow us to implement our office motifs as efficiently as possible (e.g., getting in the details of finish specs, making the right trade-offs with the architectural designers in service of efficiency while maintaining overall feel.
  2. Own the build-out of future space around our HQ in Los Angeles.
    1. Do the same set of work as above for future expansion space around our HQ in LA, as we expand beyond the existing space we have.
  3. Own execution of major events that we put on as a company, including but not limited to major industry summits, all-company events, large recruiting events, and more.
    1. Work with other members of the Amca team and vendors to organize and execute on grand event visions with extreme time constraints.
  4. Supports execution of complementary projects: film and other media productions; trade show booth build-outs; factory showroom and customer experience design; Amca-branded merch production and delivery.
