Who this role is for

We are looking for a Staff Engineer who wants high ownership and high impact, and who can raise the technical bar across the company.

This is not a role limited to one team’s backlog. You will operate across squads, unblock execution, and make the platform meaningfully better.

What you will do

• Own architecture and execution for major product and platform initiatives
• Drive technical direction across multiple squads and align engineers on a scalable approach
• Lead design reviews and set strong standards for reliability, performance, security, and maintainability
• Take the hardest problems and ship the first version, then help teams scale it
• Build foundational systems used across the product: workflow orchestration, queues, policy and risk rules, audit trails, observability
• Mentor and strengthen engineering culture through coaching and hands-on guidance
• Partner with PM and Design to simplify complex compliance workflows into clean product experiences

What we are looking for

• 4 to 7+ years of experience building production systems
• Strong full-stack depth with proven backend and frontend competence
• Track record of driving large projects end-to-end across teams
• Excellent judgment under ambiguity, and ability to make tradeoffs that scale
• High standards for code quality, system design, and engineering excellence
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to influence without authority

Nice to have

• React and TypeScript, and Python (Flask or FastAPI)
• Strong SQL and Postgres experience
• Experience with fintech, compliance, fraud, risk, workflow systems, or B2B SaaS
• Experience building internal tools and platforms used by ops teams daily
