Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated emerging talent to participate in a 10-week immersive internship program from June 8, 2026, to August 14, 2026. This program offers university and graduate students hands-on experience through project-based work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Throughout the program, Interns will have exposure to mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities.

The Lunar Regolith Research Intern will conduct applied research into the use of lunar regolith as a primary construction material. This role bridges materials science, geotechnical engineering, and space architecture. It will directly impact Voyager's technical proposals for NASA Moon Base infrastructure programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside senior engineers and research scientists
  • Investigate regolith composition, processing methodologies, and structural applications
  • Focus on 3D printing technologies and the development of stable foundations for inflatable habitat structures
  • Contribute ideas for process improvement and operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university in Aerospace Engineering, Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical
    Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated coursework or research experience in one or more of: materials characterization, structural engineering, additive manufacturing, or planetary
    science
  • Strong technical writing and research synthesis skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel for in-person orientation and program kickoff as well as for final presentation at program completion

Preferences:

  • Familiarity with lunar or Martian regolith simulants (JSC-1A, MMS, or equivalent)
  • Experience with finite element analysis (ANSYS, ABAQUS, or similar) for structural
    modeling
  • Background in additive manufacturing processes or powder-based printing
    methods
  • Prior internship or research experience at NASA, a national laboratory, or a space
    industry company

Hourly Pay Range: $23.50-$30.00 per hour

*Hourly rate determined by academic year, college major, line of business, geography
