Raytheon Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to support flight test project leadership, mission planning, and mission directing. The candidate will lead and coordinate flight test activities across multiple engineering, flight operations, and support teams, ensuring all technical, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved. The candidate will translate complex technical requirements into executable flight test missions through the development of detailed test plans, safety documentation, and flight test cards.The candidate must operate daily with minimal supervision in fast-paced environments on multiple programs, including working classified and SAP programs.
This is an onsite role located in either El Segundo, CA or Ontario, CA.
What You Will Do
Translate test project technical requirements into executable flight tests
Create flight test plans, safety plans, and flight test cards
Coordinate and schedule test activities with major test ranges, air and ground targets, and other key test resources
Direct test missions onboard test aircraft as a Test Conductor or Mission Director
Own test project budget and schedule, including cost forecasting and performance tracking with regular status reporting to the customer
Coordinate across engineering disciplines (systems, electrical, mechanical) and functional teams (supply chain, quality, and security) to meet project milestones for execution
Assist in development of proposals for new flight test business
Perform work in classified and SAP environments
Travel up to 10% to support flight test deployments or technical interchange meetings.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience working in a flight test mission control room
Experience with project leadership such as budgeting, scheduling, and cross-functional communication
Experience working classified and SAP programs
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience as a flight test conductor or test director
Strong aviation background to include private/commercial pilots license
Experience with EV and program management
Experience with developing and presenting gate reviews, requirements reviews, preliminary and critical design reviews, and test readiness reviews.
Familiarity with aircraft flight operations, aviation terminology, and radio procedures

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
