
Job Description
As an OSRC Specialist you will play a critical role in supporting operational safety, risk reduction, compliance, and workplace readiness across manufacturing and production environments. This position partners closely with operations, facilities, engineering, and leadership teams to proactively identify risks, implement practical safety solutions, and help drive a strong culture of accountability and operational excellence.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strong field presence, sound judgment, technical problem-solving ability, and the capability to balance urgency with professionalism. The ideal candidate understands how to work collaboratively within fast-paced production environments while helping teams execute safely and efficiently.
The OSRC Specialist will support the organization’s mission by driving continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety, ergonomics, hazardous material management, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Operational Safety & Risk Management
- Conduct regular walkthroughs, inspections, and operational risk assessments across manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, and production areas.
- Identify and help resolve safety concerns related to fabrication processes, heavy manufacturing equipment, material handling, fall protection, and ergonomic risk factors.
- Partner with operations and leadership teams to implement practical, sustainable corrective actions that support production goals while maintaining compliance and employee safety.
- Support hazard identification, incident prevention, corrective action tracking, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety standards, procedures, and operational best practices.
- Maintain a strong operational presence and build trusted working relationships across departments.
- Collaborate directly with production leadership, facilities, engineering, and operations teams to solve problems in real time.
- Exercise sound judgment by escalating issues appropriately while avoiding unnecessary operational disruption.
- Demonstrate a “fix first, then document” mindset when appropriate while ensuring accountability and follow-through.
- Provide clear guidance and support to employees and leaders regarding safety expectations and operational responsibilities.
- Interpret and apply OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, environmental requirements, and internal company policies.
- Support programs related to hazardous materials, chemical management, labeling, storage, inventory controls, and dock operations.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company expectations.
- Assist in the implementation and auditing of fall protection, restraint systems, lockout/tagout, PPE, and ergonomics programs.
- Track and maintain key operational safety metrics including: (DART Rate, TRIR, Leading Indicators, Safety Ticket Trends, Corrective Action Closure Rates)
- Analyze trends and recommend proactive solutions to reduce operational risk and improve workplace performance.
- Support transparency, accountability, and operational reporting across the business.
- Contribute to the development of scalable safety systems and operational readiness processes.

Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, industrial operations, environmental health & safety, or related operational environments.
- Experience working in environments involving sheet metal fabrication, tube fabrication, heavy manufacturing, industrial equipment, or construction operations.
- Strong understanding of operational safety practices, risk mitigation, and workplace hazard identification.
- Ability to work collaboratively and professionally in fast-paced operational environments.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently and drive action with urgency and accountability.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- Experience supporting ergonomics programs, fall protection systems, or industrial hazard mitigation initiatives.
- Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, hazardous materials management, and industrial compliance standards.
- Experience with safety management systems, incident tracking, or operational reporting tools.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent are a plus.
