-This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.
We are hiring for multiple early career Engines M&P engineering roles with specialized focus in special processes, welding/joining, additive manufacture, metallurgy, casting/forging, sealing and more in support of liquid rocket engines. This role will directly impact design and manufacturability of rocket engine hardware, ultimately contributing to lowering the cost of access to space.

Primary Locations
We prioritize placing early career engineers in locations where they can be co-located with their team and the relevant hardware they support. The primary locations for this role are listed below. Please indicate in the application where you would be willing to be located.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and qualify materials and processes for liquid rocket engine applications
- Work with design, manufacturing and process engineers to implement and optimize materials for performance and cost.
- Identify and apply mature state-of-the-art processes to manufacturing and develop process control documentation and quality assurance measure.
- Develop materials test plans process and materials evaluation/qualification.
- Own process and repair qualification across the development and production lifecycle.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for special processes.
- Support day-to-day manufacturing through non-conformance disposition, manufacturing floor support, etc.
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree or higher in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Internship experience focused on materials and processes with an emphasis on materials design, process development, implementation, and/or qualification
- Exposure to definition and qualification of special processes such as welding, casting, forging, additive, or similar.
- Experience working with Ni-based alloys, Cu-based alloys, and/or other materials common in aerospace propulsion manufacturing.
- Ability to collect and analyze data and present results in a meaningful format.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- Demonstrated experience with materials and process development and qualification
- In-depth understanding of materials/ process relationships
- Familiarity with a wide variety of manufacturing processes (additive, casting, forging) and their impact on joining techniques
- Experience with failure and forensic analysis of aerospace or other complex hardware
- Experience evaluating and interpreting NDT inspection results
- Understanding of quality standards, industrial codes, and/or material specifications.
How to prepare:
We are solving challenging, new problems and we need people to represent a wide variety of perspectives. Experience in aerospace is not a requirement. We value broad academic and industry experiences such as Tech, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Automotive, and more.

Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85Other site ranges may differ

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
