Joining our team means gaining direct exposure to leadership, owning high-visibility projects, and partnering across business lines to build a world-class tax function.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Tax Senior Analyst to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for driving core tax provision calculations, managing multi-jurisdictional tax compliance, and tax data enhancement. You will actively build scalable financial pipelines and partner cross-functionally to streamline our reporting processes. If you are someone who has a knack for ASC 740, global tax reporting experience, and tax technology skills then this role is for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead US Federal & State Income Tax Compliance: Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns, estimated payments, and extensions in partnership with external advisors.
  • Shape the Tax Provision Process: Be a key contributor to the quarterly and annual ASC 740 provision — current/deferred taxes, rate rec, RTP, valuation allowance, and UTPs — as we mature toward public-company readiness.
  • Scale Indirect Tax: Assist multi-state sales & use tax — nexus, taxability, exemption certificates, and audits — in a business where physical products, manufacturing footprint, and customer base are expanding fast.
  • Support R&D Credit Studies: Partner with external advisors and engineering stakeholders to gather data, coordinate interviews, and support documentation for federal and state R&D credit claims.
  • Process & Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes and implement automation/tools (e.g., Avalara, OneSource, Excel) to support scale.
  • Cross-Functional Partner: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Procurement, Payroll, Supply Chain, and Engineering — making tax a proactive partner to the business.
  • Special Projects: Support M&A tax due diligence, transfer pricing, and international.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of progressive tax experience, with a mix of Big 4 / large public accounting and/or in-house corporate tax
  • Strong working knowledge of US federal and multi-state income tax, and ASC 740 tax provision
  • Proficiency with tax compliance and provision software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax, Avalara, Vertex)
  • Advanced Excel skills; comfort with large data sets
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA and/or Master's in Taxation
  • Exposure to Indirect Tax (Sales Tax, Property Tax, BPOL)
  • Exposure to international tax (VAT, GST, and Pillar 2)
  • Experience with Oracle ERP, NetSuite, or SAP systems
  • Experience supporting tax in a pre-IPO or recently public company environment
