Our team is actively seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Senior Flight Test Engineer to quickly integrate into the team and serve as a representative to Anduril’s Reston office. In this role, you will support the Anduril Frontier Systems division with your technical expertise and fostering strategic collaboration across various teams. This includes working closely with program leadership, supporting companies, and government partners. This position will primarily focus on support to flight system supporting the Intelligence Systems business line but may include support to other business lines as required.

The Test Engineering team works across the entire spectrum of products ranging from Lattice Ghost UAS, Sentry Tower, cUAS and our other platforms. Our team conducts full system level development testing, new aircraft development, sub-component qualification testing and much more. In short, if it involves test, we support it. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • As a Flight Test Engineer, under minimal supervision, you will determine and develop various approaches to achieve T&E goals and help guide and perform the completion of test activities.
  • Test duties include system level T&E of hardware and software with emphasis placed on resource planning, conducting ground and flight testing, process improvement/development and participating in technical test reviews.
  • Support execution of testing at private and government owned test ranges
  • Work closely with Engineering to discuss test results, to include collected data and observations.
  • Collect and perform initial test data analysis for the system under test.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
  • Current Top Secret Security Clearance
  • 8+ years of test engineering experience or comparable skill (i.e. military exercise planning & evaluation, or a mixture of engineering disciplines with some experience in testing)
  • Ability to travel as required for planning and testing (~25-50%).
  • Must be able to execute the full test engineering process for a System-of-Systems (requirements, test planning, readiness reviews, safety reviews, test execution, test reporting, etc.) with little to no oversight utilizing company test and evaluation policy.
  • Experience producing customer facing test deliverables (test plans, test reports, data analysis, etc.) and demonstrated maturity to articulate deliverable to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience as a test conductor, test director, or similar role while executing testing.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and solve problems across a variety of engineering areas.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver results in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment with little to no oversight.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with the Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community
  • Experience working with the National Airspace System, UAS regulations, or other flight related regulations
  • Experience working with test pilots/operators
  • Experience utilizing a Linux Operating System (Ubuntu, Debian, etc) or using Command Line Interface with another operating system
  • Hobbyist R/C, electronics experience, and/or rapid-prototyping experience (soldering, harnessing, power supply, etc)
  • Familiar with or willing to learn flight control software platforms like PX4 and ArduPilot
  • Familiar with or willing to learn QGroundControl, Mission Planner, or similar Ground Control Station software applications
  • Possess, with the ability to maintain, a FAA part 107 certificate
US Salary Range
$146,000$210,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
