Forward Logistics Associate, Middle East

Compensation
$86,000–$114,000/year

Job Description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Deployments Team manages the coordination and execution of fielding Anduril's hardware and software products worldwide. Working across Product, Engineering, Growth, Business Development, Technical Operations, and Mission Operations, Deployments oversees forward logistics, site installation, maintenance & repairs, field inventory management, sustainment, and reverse logistics. The team is central to ensuring effective customer and mission success, shaping the future of Anduril's defense solutions.

We are seeking a Forward Logistics Associate to provide on-the-ground logistics support across the Middle East and Africa. This role will be forward-deployed to U.S. military installations, including operating bases and forward operating bases located in designated hazard zones. You will serve as the in-theater logistics owner for all Anduril equipment movements, sparing accountability, and asset flow. You will also work shoulder-to-shoulder with uniformed military personnel, U.S. government representatives, and Anduril field teams to ensure that mission-critical hardware arrives at the right place, at the right time, every time.

This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on, mission-driven logistician who thrives in austere environments, can navigate the complexities of in-theater military logistics, and is energized by directly enabling the warfighter. A successful candidate will bring a deep appreciation for details, an ability to operate independently in ambiguous and high-stakes settings, and the resilience to execute white-glove logistics services where there are no second chances or do-overs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In-Theater Transportation & Movement Coordination

  • Facilitate the movement of Anduril hardware, spares, and personnel between main operating bases and forward operating bases (FOBs) across the Middle East and Africa.
  • Coordinate intra-theater transport via military airlift (e.g., CENTCOM/AFRICOM rotators, rotary-wing), ground convoys, and contracted carriers as appropriate.
  • Work directly with uniformed military movement control teams (e.g., Air Mobility Command, TMO/JMO, SDDC, A4/G4, Battalion S-4s) to schedule lift, secure manifest space, and execute on-time delivery.
  • Serve as the on-the-ground point of contact for all logistics activities at supported sites, ensuring the smooth flow of Anduril assets through hazard zones.

Military Transport Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare, validate, and submit all required military transport documentation, including DD Form 1149, DD Form 1387 (MSL), DD Form 250, AWBs, hazmat shipping declarations, and customs paperwork.
  • Partner with uniformed military counterparts to build and submit Transportation Movement Requests (TMRs) and to coordinate Government Bill of Lading (GBL) shipments.
  • Ensure full compliance with DoD, host-nation, ITAR, EAR, and Dangerous Goods (IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR) regulations for all in-theater shipments.
  • Maintain meticulous chain-of-custody for sensitive, classified, and dangerous goods shipments.

Inbound & Outbound Shipment Management

  • Manage the receipt, inspection, and acceptance of all inbound Anduril equipment arriving in theater from CONUS and OCONUS origins.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments, including reverse logistics for retrograde, RMA, and depot-level repair of Anduril hardware.
  • Partner with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and Anduril's CONUS logistics team to resolve clearance delays, documentation gaps, and routing issues.
  • Conduct receiving inspections, document discrepancies, and initiate corrective actions for damaged or missing items.

Sparing & Inventory Accountability

  • Maintain 100% accountability of forward-deployed inventory, including operational spares, consumables, and mission-critical hardware across multiple sites.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts, physical inventories, and audits; reconcile system records (Oracle ERP, Odoo, JIRA, Salesforce) to physical on-hand quantities.
  • Manage the storage, handling, and issue of spares to Anduril Technical Operations Engineers and customer end-users in support of sustainment and maintenance operations.
  • Identify sparing shortfalls, forecast replenishment needs, and coordinate resupply with the SIP program team and global logistics.

Cross-Functional & Customer Engagement

  • Serve as Anduril's logistics liaison to SOCOM customers, partner force units, and on-site representatives.
  • Provide surge support to Anduril's broader Middle East regional team and adjacent program activities (e.g., partner force engagements, demos, FMS deliveries) as in-theater capacity allows, partnering closely with the teams.
  • Collaborate daily with Deployment Operations, Mission Operations, and Technical Operations to align logistics support with mission tempo.
  • Communicate proactively with CONUS-based Deployment Operations leadership on shipment status, risks, and escalations using appropriate channels (Slack, email, secure comms when required).

Operate in Austere & Hazard Zone Environments

  • Live and work at forward bases in designated hazard/imminent danger pay zones across the Middle East and Africa for extended rotations.
  • Travel frequently between bases, often on short notice and via military lift, to support deployments, maintenance events, and retrograde operations.
  • Adhere to all force protection, OPSEC, and site security requirements while operating in theater.
  • Embrace a "no task too small" mindset; roll up your sleeves, drive a forklift, palletize cargo, build shipping crates, or push paperwork, whatever it takes to keep the mission moving.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify gaps in in-theater logistics processes and propose scalable solutions to Anduril's CONUS Deployment Operations team.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, playbooks, and lessons learned for forward logistics operations supporting SOCOM and other DoD customers.
  • Provide feedback to internal stakeholders on customer needs, supportability issues, and product improvements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS preferred; equivalent military or operational experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or military operations, with demonstrated forward-deployed or in-theater experience.
  • Direct experience working with uniformed U.S. military logistics organizations (e.g., Army G-4/S-4, USAF LRS, USMC Logistics, Navy Supply, SDDC, AMC, TMO/JMO).
  • Hands-on experience preparing military transport documentation (DD 1149, DD 1387, TMRs, GBLs, AWBs, hazmat declarations).
  • Strong attention to detail and an attitude of 100% compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to operate independently with minimal oversight in ambiguous, fast-paced, and high-stakes environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with uniformed military, government representatives, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in productivity and ERP tools (Oracle ERP, Odoo, Salesforce, JIRA, Slack, Excel).
  • Willingness and ability to live and work in hazard/imminent danger zones in the Middle East and Africa for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% in-theater between bases.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior U.S. military service in a logistics, supply, or transportation MOS/AFSC (e.g., 88N, 92A, 92Y, 0431, 2T2X1, LS).
  • Prior deployment experience supporting SOCOM, JSOC, or partner force units in CENTCOM or AFRICOM AORs.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) models supporting DoD programs.
  • Experience with military air movement processes (pallet build-up, 463L pallets, HAZMAT certification for air shipments).
  • Current Dangerous Goods certification (IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR).
  • Experience supporting Counter-UAS, Air Defense, or ISR systems in a forward-deployed environment.
  • Familiarity with host-nation customs processes across GCC countries and East/North Africa.
  • Active U.S. Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
