Global supply chains still depend on manual data entry, spreadsheets, and paper documents passed between freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers. [Reform](https://zerogtalent.com/ai-companies/reform), an artificial intelligence startup founded in 2023 and backed by Y Combinator's W24 batch, is developing software to automate these operational handoffs from quote to cash.

Based in San Francisco, the 10-person company builds a workflow automation platform that coordinates AI agents to carry out high-stakes logistics tasks. Rather than deploying purely autonomous agents, Reform uses a hybrid system combining deterministic rules, traditional workflow trees, custom code, and natural language prompts. This structure lets logistics providers ingest standard operating procedures, extract data from complex shipping documents, and route edge cases to human operators.

Now, Reform is expanding its core team, opening roles in engineering, customs compliance, and talent acquisition to support deployment with enterprise logistics clients.

## Translating Trade Operations into Software

Reform was founded by Chief Executive Officer [Omar Abuhashish](https://zerogtalent.com/people/omar-abuhashish), Chief Technology Officer [Pradhit Gosula](https://zerogtalent.com/people/pradhit-gosula), and [Saif Abuhashish](https://zerogtalent.com/people/saif-abuhashish). Omar Abuhashish holds a degree in computer science and mechanical and aerospace engineering from New York University. Before launching Reform, he worked as the first engineer at Altan Insights and later handled new products at crypto tax platform CoinTracker, where he worked alongside Gosula.

In an appearance on the [Simply Trade Podcast](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy3O8MUmjjo), Abuhashish explained that the founders conducted more than 750 discovery interviews with supply chain leaders, freight forwarders, and logistics specialists before writing software. Those conversations revealed that legacy data pipelines and dense compliance paperwork were draining operational capacity across the sector.

To bridge the gap between software and logistics, Reform relies heavily on forward deployed engineering. In a presentation hosted by trade specialist Cindy Allen on [Reform](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hFo0IIUCo4)'s channel, CITTA Brokerage representative Jerry explained how the brokerage integrated Reform's automation into its drawback workflows. CITTA used custom code checks alongside language models, verifying that individual extracted line items matched invoice totals before clearing files. Jerry reported that the system saved between 1,000 and 1,600 hours per month across data entry and internal review teams.

In another interview on [Let's Talk Supply Chain](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amz9LH9FqqI), Abuhashish described a duty drawback provider that faced an 8,000-page entry document consisting of CBP Form 7501s and commercial invoices. While an offshore team quoted 450 hours and nearly $5,000 to process the paperwork, Reform parsed the file and generated structured data in 40 minutes.

## Hiring Across Engineering and Trade Operations

To accelerate customer rollouts and product development, Reform is hiring for five onsite positions at its San Francisco headquarters.

The company is bridging software and regulatory practice by recruiting a [Licensed Customs Broker](https://zerogtalent.com/ai-jobs/reform/licensed-customs-broker-108324) ($120,000–$170,000 USD). Working directly with product and engineering teams, the broker will translate federal trade regulations and human judgment into parameters for AI agents, set baseline accuracy standards for automated customs declarations, and travel to customer facilities.

On the technical side, the company is looking for a core [Software Engineer](https://zerogtalent.com/ai-jobs/reform/software-engineer-84525) ($150,000–$200,000 USD) to take end-to-end ownership of full-stack feature development and data pipelines using Python, Node, and Next.js.

Reform is also deploying technical talent directly into customer operations. It is hiring a [Forward Deployed Engineer](https://zerogtalent.com/ai-jobs/reform/forward-deployed-engineer-82937) ($125,000–$175,000 USD) and a bilingual [Forward Deployed Engineer — Spanish Speaking](https://zerogtalent.com/ai-jobs/reform/forward-deployed-engineer-spanish-speaking-95231) ($125,000–$175,000 USD). Both roles embed with customers to build, deploy, and manage custom technical solutions using Python, Node, and Next.js, and require regular travel to client sites and trade conferences.

To build out the rest of the organization, Reform has listed a [Recruiting Lead](https://zerogtalent.com/ai-jobs/reform/recruiting-lead-84524) ($125,000–$175,000 USD) as its first internal talent hire. Working directly alongside the founders, this person will direct full-cycle technical and commercial recruiting while establishing hiring infrastructure and employer branding.
