[Agave](https://zerogtalent.com/ai-companies/agave) announced a $15 million Series A round led by Accel, with continued backing from Y Combinator, bringing its total funding to more than $20 million. The San Francisco-based company operates an integration and automation platform designed specifically for construction accounting and back-office operations.

The round comes alongside rare operational milestones for early-stage software companies: Agave has been profitable for more than two years and tripled its revenue year-over-year, according to reporting by [Pulse 2.0](https://pulse2.com/agave-raises-15-million-series-a-to-bring-ai-to-construction-financials/) and [citybiz](https://www.citybiz.co/article/870814/agave-raises-15-million-series-a-to-expand-ai-platform-for-construction-financials/). Coverage in [FinSMEs](https://www.finsmes.com/2026/07/agave-raises-15m-in-series-a-funding.html) and [AlleyWatch](https://alleywatch.com/2026/07/the-weekly-notable-startup-funding-report-7-13-26/) noted that the capital is earmarked for team expansion and scaling product capabilities.

With 28 employees currently on staff, the company is using the fresh capital to build out engineering and commercial teams, opening positions such as [Head of Sales](https://zerogtalent.com/ai-jobs/agave/senior-sales-leader-105489) and [Senior Software Engineer](https://zerogtalent.com/ai-jobs/agave/senior-software-engineer-113336).

## The Product: Bridging Field Operations and Accounting

Construction accounting operates differently from standard corporate finance. Individual projects act as independent profit centers, with expenses tracked by job, phase, and cost code. Constant scope changes and change orders flow between job sites and corporate offices, creating complex paper trails across separate software environments.

Agave addresses this fragmentation through a unified API and its core product, Agave Sync. The platform maintains proprietary two-way connections across more than 14 enterprise resource planning (ERP) and project management systems, including Procore, Autodesk Forma Build, BIM 360, and QuickBooks Online across cloud, hosted, and on-premises deployments.

Rather than attempting to replace established industry software, Agave synchronizes financial and operational records between field teams on jobsites and back-office accounting departments. The product suite automates accounts payable invoice processing, expense tracking, vendor compliance checks against insurance requirements, cost reconciliation, and reporting. Customers can also build custom AI agents for workflows that rigid off-the-shelf software cannot handle.

Agave reports that its software runs across more than 80,000 projects in the United States and Canada, representing over $100 billion in cumulative project value. Its customer base includes more than 500 general and specialty contractors with annual revenues spanning $5 million to over $5 billion, such as Evans General Contractors, Stacy Witbeck, Brinkman Construction, Satterfield & Pontikes, and RW Dake. Customers report saving more than 60 hours each month on data entry and cross-system reconciliations.

“AI adoption in construction won’t come from replacing existing systems, but from enabling AI to work seamlessly with them,” said Agave co-founder and CEO [Tom Reno](https://zerogtalent.com/people/tom-reno) in comments reported by [Pulse 2.0](https://pulse2.com/agave-raises-15-million-series-a-to-bring-ai-to-construction-financials/). Accel partner Vas Natarajan noted in the same report that the larger opportunity in software “is deploying AI to operate on systems companies already depend on, helping enterprises get more out of what they have today.”
