Our agents do real work in the real world — move money, send messages, sign up for services, transact on behalf of businesses. Every one of those actions sits on top of a primitive that has to be compliant, auditable, and defensible. We're looking for an engineer to own that layer end-to-end.

What You'll Do

• Work directly with the CEO/CTO to define our regulatory and compliance strategy
• Build the regulatory-sensitive primitives our agents depend on — KYC/KYB, identity verification, money movement, virtual card issuance, A2P messaging, data handling
• Own integrations with compliance vendors and the framework around them
• Stay ahead of the regulatory landscape for AI agents — A2P 10DLC, money transmission, AIUC-1, SOC 2, GDPR/CCPA, and the AI-specific frameworks emerging now
• Work with outside counsel to translate legal requirements into shipped product
• Drive the answer to "can we do this safely?" — and then ship it

The Role This is not a compliance/legal hire with engineers attached. This is an engineer who builds the systems that make compliance real in code. You'll own the primitives that let our agents act on behalf of real businesses without setting them — or us — on fire. You build. You ship. You own the outcome.

Must-Haves

• High Agency
• Strong full-stack engineering (Next.js, TypeScript, Python)
• Experience building or integrating compliance-critical systems — payments, KYC/KYB, identity, regulated messaging, or similar
• Comfort reading regulations, vendor docs, and ToS and translating them into product decisions
• Ability to make defensible calls under ambiguity — knowing what to ship when no one has a clean answer
• Real LLM experience — tool use, agentic systems, structured outputs
• Strong product instincts and taste

Nice-to-Haves

• Background at a fintech, neobank, or BaaS company
• Hands-on experience with Stripe Issuing, Stripe Connect, or money movement stacks
• Hands-on experience with KYC/KYB vendors (Persona, Alloy, Middesk, Stripe Identity)
• Familiarity with A2P 10DLC, SMS/email compliance, or telecom regulation
• Familiarity with SOC 2, AIUC-1, or AI-specific compliance frameworks
• Ex-founder or technical co-founder background
• Multi-agent systems or agent orchestration experience
