Job Description
Dwelling Claims Experience Advocate
What you're applying for
We're looking for a Dwelling Claims Experience Advocate to help us settle property losses quickly, fairly, and with a level of care that actually surprises people. You'll join our Claims team handling the full lifecycle of dwelling and condo claims — from first notice of loss through resolution — and you'll be the person who makes a genuinely hard situation feel a little more human.
We believe three things matter for every role at Lemonade: drive to push through challenges, efficiency that keeps standards high while moving fast, and adaptability that lets you pivot with data and AI insights. These aren't buzzwords, they're how we actually work.
Our AI-first approach isn't just a tagline either. We're building the future of insurance with AI at the center, and we need people who are genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside these tools.
In this role you'll
Investigate and handle dwelling and condo claims end to end, owning each case from first notice through final resolution
Settle all claim components — dwelling, condo, contents, and ALE — efficiently and fairly, keeping customers informed by phone and email throughout
Explain coverage decisions in plain language, ditching the jargon and making sure customers actually understand what's happening and why
Review mitigation and pack-out bills, and identify subrogation opportunities as part of your day-to-day handling
Follow best practices for reporting large losses to internal and external partners, and hold yourself to all state-required compliance guidelines
Develop deep expertise across peril-based policy so you can handle complex, high-stakes claims with confidence
Prioritize and organize your caseload daily so nothing falls through the cracks and every customer gets a timely response
What you'll need
2+ years of technical claims handling experience, with a strong background in fire, water, and weather losses
Proven experience handling losses valued over $10K across a wide range of claim types
Hands-on experience managing large contents inventories
Solid knowledge of dwelling damage, with condo experience preferred
Familiarity working with major national property service vendors like Serv-Pro, First Team, Contractor Connection, and Crawford
Experience identifying and handling claims with suspicious flags
A genuine passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience — even when the news is hard to deliver
Comfortable picking up new technology and business tools as they evolve
Active Property & Casualty adjuster license in your resident state
Please note that we are unable to sponsor applicants for work visas.
Unfortunately, we cannot consider applicants from these states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Montana, Hawaii, New Mexico and Puerto Rico.
