
Job Description
This is a ground floor opportunity to join Hotglue as an early team member and directly shape our trajectory. As a Sales Engineer, you'll own the technical side of the sales process — helping prospects understand how Hotglue fits into their stack and guiding them from first demo to signed deal. You’ll work closely with founders, product, and engineering to answer technical questions, scope solutions, build compelling demos, and unblock evaluations.
This is a highly cross-functional, customer-facing role where technical depth and communication skills matter equally. You’ll become an expert in integrations, APIs, and data infrastructure while helping some of the fastest-growing SaaS companies build native integrations with Hotglue.
What You'll Do
- Partner with the sales team throughout the pre-sales process to help prospects evaluate Hotglue
- Lead technical demos and tailor presentations to customer use cases and workflows
- Answer technical questions about integrations, APIs, security, architecture, and implementation approaches
- Build proof-of-concepts and demo environments to showcase what’s possible with Hotglue
- Work directly with engineering and product to communicate prospect feedback and unblock complex evaluations
- Become a deep expert in Hotglue and our 300+ integrations, then translate that knowledge into clear technical explanations for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Help shape our sales engineering playbook, demo strategy, and technical sales process as the company scales
The Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years in sales engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or another customer-facing technical role
- You’re a strong communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly to both engineers and business stakeholders
- You’re comfortable navigating technical conversations around APIs, integrations, authentication, and data flows
- You enjoy digging into customer problems and figuring out how products fit into real-world architectures
- You can think on your feet during live demos and technical conversations
- You default to action over perfection and figure things out as you go
- (Bonus) Can write and understand Python or JavaScript code to build demos or troubleshoot customer issues
