**What We're Looking For**

We are looking for an experienced **Senior QA Engineer** who is passionate about building quality into software from the beginning, not simply testing it at the end. You will play a key role in defining and evolving our quality engineering practices, automation strategy, and release validation process across our enterprise platforms.

The ideal candidate thinks like a software engineer, takes ownership of quality, and continuously looks for opportunities to improve how we build, test, and release software. You are proactive, curious, comfortable working with ambiguity, and able to identify risks and drive solutions without waiting for step-by-step direction. Ultimately, we are looking for someone who helps the engineering team deliver reliable software with confidence.

**Responsibilities:**

- **Own the quality engineering strategy** across our enterprise platforms, ensuring every release is backed by reliable automation and measurable quality.
- Design, build, and continuously improve scalable UI automation frameworks using **Playwright, Cypress, TypeScript, and Gherkin**. Drive the evolution of our automation architecture to improve reliability, maintainability, execution speed, and developer productivity.
- Own **micro frontend integration and end-to-end testing** across our Angular enterprise applications, ensuring critical user journeys and integrations are covered by reliable automation.
- Design and implement automated **integration testing, smoke testing, and post-deployment validation** for Sandbox and Production releases.
- Integrate automated testing and quality gates into **Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines** and **Octopus Deploy** release workflows, with automated test reporting and team notifications.
- Review test coverage across the testing pyramid, ensuring appropriate unit and component test coverage while taking primary ownership of integration and end-to-end automation.
- Perform exploratory and manual testing when appropriate, while continuously identifying repeatable scenarios that can be converted into reliable automation.
- Participate in refinement, design, and technical discussions to identify quality risks, edge cases, and testing requirements early in the development lifecycle.
- Investigate automation failures, release issues, and product defects through root cause analysis, working with the appropriate engineers until issues are understood and resolved.
- Proactively identify gaps in automation, testing strategy, tooling, and release processes, and drive improvements without waiting for direction.
- Define and publish quality metrics, test reports, and automated notifications that provide visibility into product health and release readiness.
- Take ownership of quality initiatives from idea through implementation, driving technical solutions to completion and continuously identifying opportunities to improve engineering quality.
- Effectively leverage **AI tools** to improve engineering productivity, software quality, debugging, and test automation while ensuring all AI-assisted work is reviewed, understood, validated, and meets engineering quality standards before adoption.
- Evaluate new testing technologies, tools, and engineering practices and make recommendations that improve quality, maintainability, and team productivity.

**Qualifications:**

- 6+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, SDET, or a similar engineering role focused on quality.
- Strong software engineering and programming skills with **TypeScript**.
- Strong hands-on experience with **Playwright or Cypress** or similar modern browser automation technologies.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of modern testing strategies, including the **testing pyramid, component testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing**.
- Experience testing modern web applications, preferably **Angular** applications.
- Experience with **Gherkin/Cucumber** or behavior-driven testing practices.
- Hands-on experience with **AWS**, containerized applications, and cloud-based application architectures.
- Experience integrating automated testing into **Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines**.
- Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and role-based access testing.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify problems, propose solutions, and drive quality engineering initiatives to completion.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering teams.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Experience with **Angular Vitest** and component testing.
- Experience testing **micro frontend architectures**.
- Experience with **Terraform** and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with **Octopus Deploy** or similar release orchestration and deployment automation platforms.
- Experience testing REST APIs and distributed application workflows.
- Basic knowledge of **SQL and PostgreSQL**, including the ability to query and validate application data for testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience with **C#/.NET** applications.
