Job Description

Who we are

Aurora’s mission is to deliver the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly.

The Aurora Driver will create a new era in mobility and logistics, one that will bring a safer, more efficient, and more accessible future to everyone.

At Aurora, you will tackle massively complex problems alongside other passionate, intelligent individuals, growing as an expert while expanding your knowledge. For the latest news from Aurora, visit aurora.tech or follow us on LinkedIn.

Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all.

We are seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Senior Materials Analyst to partner closely with our Operations Program Managers in driving material readiness for complex hardware builds in an automotive/technology manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a supply chain professional who thrives in the details of material planning and data accuracy, while also bringing the analytical horsepower to uncover trends, pinpoint root causes, and recommend process improvements.

You will be the primary analyst and materials owner supporting our OPMs — ensuring that short-term material health is visible, accurate, and acted upon, enabling programs to stay on track. This position demands expertise in ERP/MRP execution, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, with an ability to navigate fast-paced and dynamic build schedules.

In this role, you will

  • Own short-term material health for assigned programs, ensuring accuracy in ERP and flagging shortages, late POs, or at-risk parts for action by OPMs and Procurement.
  • Maintain and continuously improve material readiness dashboards and trackers using dashboarding tools or spreadsheets.
  • Partner with OPMs to consolidate and validate data for build readiness reviews, material risk assessments, and leadership updates.
  • Execute regular BOM scrub and alignment activities, ensuring ERP data integrity (quantities, lead times, allocations).
  • Analyze material availability vs. program demand, highlight gaps, and prepare actionable recovery plans.
  • Manage and track engineering change impacts on material requirements, collaborating with OPMs to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Drive recurring operational cadences (weekly readiness reviews, inventory checks, and allocation updates).
  • Utilize JIRA and Monday to track and follow through on open issues, ensuring closure and accurate status reporting.
  • Support scenario planning by running “what-if” analyses on material availability and demand shifts.
  • Partner with OPMs on executive and customer-facing reporting, ensuring data is clean, accurate, and presentation-ready.
  • Identify data or process gaps and propose solutions to improve planning accuracy and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years in materials planning, supply planning, or production control within automotive, aerospace, or complex hardware manufacturing.
  • Strong ERP/MRP (Netsuite, SAP, Plex etc) experience with a proven track record of data accuracy and system execution.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Mode, and/or Power BI for data analysis and dashboarding.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage large, complex data sets without losing sight of key priorities.
  • Comfortable in an 80% execution / 20% strategy role - thrives on solving daily material availability challenges while contributing to process improvements.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, especially Operations Program Managers, Procurement, and Production Planning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with competing priorities.
  • APICS/ASCM or similar certification is a plus.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in the Automotive, Aerospace, or Robotics industries.
  • Proficiency in visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and SQL.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean methodologies as applied to warehouse and repair operations

The base salary range for this position is $72,000 - $104,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
