We are building what essentially is an ultra-efficient call center powered purely by AI agents. We process hundreds of thousands of AI-powered voice and WhatsApp conversations every day for some of Latin America's most important financial institutions.

Our entire stack, from telephony and real-time voice pipelines to LLM orchestration, is built in-house by a small team. That's our edge: we ship faster and iterate harder than companies 10x our size.

About the role

We're hiring engineers across all levels to join our team on-site in Mexico City and help us build, improve, and scale Altur's tech. Whether you're early in your career or bring years of experience, what matters is that you're hungry to learn and take real ownership.

You'll work directly with the founders daily. We value engineers who challenge our technical decisions and push us to do things the right way, not people who wait for instructions.

What you will do

Your scope will grow with your experience level, but everyone here:

• Ships daily and sees their code live the next day.
• Works on our real-time voice pipelines handling thousands of concurrent calls, contributing to the architecture if you're experienced, learning it fast if you're not.
• Helps build and scale core infrastructure: Kafka event pipelines, Redis, telephony services.
• Works on how we integrate LLMs into production systems with low latency and high accuracy.
• Talks directly with our banking clients, understands their constraints, and helps translate that into product decisions.

Must haves

• Solid fundamentals in Python and SQL databases.
• Comfortable with Docker and Git.
• A track record of building things, professionally, through projects, or on your own, that shows you can ship.
• The ability to learn fast and work through ambiguity.

Big plus if

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (bonus if AWS).
• Experience designing, building, and scaling secure production systems.
• Knowledge of CI/CD best practices.
• Experience with Django and Postgres.
• Experience with real-time voice or telephony systems.
• Proficiency in Go.
• Experience scaling high-traffic, low-latency systems.
• Apache Kafka in production.
• Experience scaling an engineering team and codebase from early-stage to production-grade.
